Self-Advocates' Night Out

We hosted a pottery painting event for teenagers with Down syndrome in Franklin, Tennessee in June 2024. We had the best night painting, eating dinner, playing games, and getting away from the parents! Through this event, parents received respite time away from their teenagers, and participants had time to get to know other friends with Down syndrome.

World Down Syndrome Day

In partnership with Auburn Community Church, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day 2024 by hosting a community dinner in Auburn, Alabama. It was our first in-person event, and it was such a sweet time to connect with old friends, meet new ones, and celebrate the people in our lives with Down syndrome that we love so much!

Mother's Day Gifts

To celebrate Mother's Day 2023, we sent gifts to mothers of children with Down syndrome and childhood cancer. These women do so much while their child is in treatment, and we wanted them to know how loved and seen they are during one of the most difficult times of their lives. We loved getting to include lots of products made by people with disabilities!

Nothing Down About It Shirts

For Down Syndrome Awareness Month 2023, we created "nothing down about it" shirts featuring the names of hundreds of people with Down syndrome on the back. These become wonderful conversation starters in local communities about the joy that people with Down syndrome bring, and all funds went towards sending more welcome home boxes.

Welcome Home Boxes

The project that started it all! We began by sending welcome home boxes to children with Down syndrome who had recently been adopted, as we realized that families who were adopting children at older ages were not receiving the same warm welcome into our community as families who had a biological baby with Down syndrome.
